The Silver Bungalow on-line last year, I was ecstatic. Not only is the Bungalow a super cool vintage Airstream but, it’s purpose is for special events (the industry that I am in) and it’s located in my all time favorite place, Jackson, Wyoming!! I contacted Courtney, owner of The Silver Bungalow last fall and met up with her on my last visit to Jackson Hole. Courtney is a breath of fresh air, young, vibrant and ready to tackle the world with her creative ideas. She gave me a tour of her Bungalow and we chatted about how it all began. She grew up on the Gulf Coast of Alabama and then made her way out to the wild west in 2006. We talked for quite sometime and she was so gracious to spend time with me. I think Jackson Hole might be her home for many years to come!
The Silver Bungalow can be rented out for just about any special occasion you can think of or just to spend an afternoon in a cool vintage Airstream with the Tetons as your backdrop. Weddings, bachelorette parties, bridal showers, rehearsal dinner, weddings ~ you name it, The Silver Bungalow will serve as the perfect prop for your next event. “It took me about 9 months to find the Airstream. I found this one in California. My parents and I actually made an adventure out of it…they drove out from Alabama and I flew down to New Mexico to join in their road trip. We drove from Santa Fe to Newcastle, California to pickup the Airstream and then back to Jackson, WY where they dropped me off and my new (to me) Airstream.
The idea for the business came from my flower shop days. I used to work in a retail /floral shop where we created and styled floral arrangements for weddings. Every weekend we would have several weddings north of town in and around Grand Teton National Park. Lots of open space and no where for the bride to hide from the groom and her guests before the wedding. So after some time blogging and brainstorming the idea of remodelling an Airstream for weddings came to be and that’s when I starting spending many more hours on the internet looking for an Airstream. I have a college degree in interior design so this was a fun way to put it to use, finally 😉
Every part of the remodel took longer than I expected but I am really pleased with how it turned out.
We are planning on tackling the exterior ourselves this winter so it will be ready to roll in the Spring…or Summer if this project falls in line with how everything else has been going.”
During our visit, I also discovered Courtney’s other talent (she has many!). Courtney designs and creates beautiful cards that are carved and stamped, by hand!
